Nataliia Sova, a Ukrainian photographer born in 1985, spent her entire life in Ukraine until the war compelled her family to move abroad. After living in the United States for a time, she currently resides in Cyprus.
Photography has long been a passion for Nataliia, and the experience of emigration has deepened her desire to explore new environments, her evolving identity, and emotions through the camera lens. Although she has never pursued photography as a career, it remains her passion and an integral part of her life.
Holding a higher education degree in engineering and construction, Nataliia Sova has always been drawn toward creative fields in her professional pursuits, despite her technical background. In photography, the emotional depth and storytelling are what captivate her most, rather than any specific genre. She finds inspiration in various styles, including landscape, portrait, street, and family photography.
To Nataliia Sova, the presence or absence of people in a frame reflects how the environment shapes individuality, influencing unique qualities and perspectives on life. Through her photography, she seeks to capture this interplay — the reflection of a person within the external world and the world within them.
